In addition to clothes...

I have been selling our used books on Amazon for quite awhile (usually for around 50 cents), and we have decided to open that up for donations as well.  *So bring on your used books*

Here's the plan

Since the plan of working hard, budgeting and saving is such a slow and steady one, we decided why not find other ways to raise funds.  *So we have decided to collect gently used clothes (all sizes and genders) and sell them (out of our bitty garage) for under $1 per item (still super cheap) and add that to our "ministry savings account"*.  We are planning on storing them in our garage and hosting garage sales or having people over when they are in need of clothes.  So please keep us in mind when cleaning out your closets or if you are in need of a few "new" items yourselves!

Why Carroll's candle?

When trying to come up with name for this blog, Jim and I were discussing how this ministry is to be a light in the world for God ("In the same way, let your light shine before men, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven". Matthew 5:16)  In an otherwise dark world where so many people are focused just on what's in front of them at that moment and not how we could be a blessing to each other.  God has called us all to be a light in this world and thus we came up with Carroll's candle.  Our opportunity to be a light in our community
